You think it's really possible to cool an air conditioning by evaporation? You know what the cooling coils are? Do they have the same function as the evaporator coils? Read on to find the answer to these questions.
Some people use the term cooling coils and evaporator coils interchangeable. cooling coils are on your air conditioning system. They are used in air handling units as well. They are different from those of your air conditioning though. The unit uses evaporator coils, which consist in cold water.
So really the coils is not the right word to use in a small air conditioning unit. You should use the evaporator coils in place. They have to contain a liquid refrigerant evaporates into the gas.
The liquid absorbs heat and becomes a gas in the air conditioning system. The heat is transferred to the coolant. This is how heat moves from one place to another.
The evaporator is located in the low pressure system of a cooling circuit.
If air conditioning is not running, but the heat exchanger fan, you can find a burst pipe in the evaporator. This can be expensive, so do not let that happen!
Why is this happening? The heat has nowhere to go if the air conditioning is turned off causing pressure build up in the pipes. So take care and keep these things in mind.
Now you know the difference between an evaporator coils and cooling coils. And you know how they work. So there is no excuse for you to find a problem, just make sure you have both the CA and the evaporator runs at the same time, and I hope you will not find any problems.
